Health technology is exploding. Commissioners of health services are scrambling to keep up and innovators are struggling to understand what’s new, what’s old, what’s niche and what is truly transformative.
In a digital age sellers are still knocking on thousands of doors and buyers are looking for solutions via Google, conferences, word of mouth or worse wasting millions reinventing the wheel.
As an industry we must find a better way of doing business. We must find a way of making it easier to enter the market – a better way to navigate global health technology. We must make it easier for the individuals tasked with invigorating our health systems, to find what works quicker – help them sift the wheat from the chaff.
The discussion must change as well. Time is too short. Let’s stop having conversations that are never going to go anywhere. Let’s create an environment where research, discovery, fact-finding and due diligence can be done quickly without wasting time, cash or resources. And let’s start being blunt with each other earlier.
So here is an idea – one place for everything.
One place for all the buyers’ profiles, all the sellers’ profiles, all the investors, all the contracts, all the requests for information, calls for pilot sites, framework calls, funders, academic research, blogs and twitter feeds and news.
We’ve thought about it and with a bit of help from NHS Digital and the National Council for Universities and Business we’ve built a prototype to test the concept. Now we need your help to make it work. We need you to create company and organisation profiles. We need you to tell us what’s right and what’s wrong.
The concept is called ReconnHealth and we want it to be the way we all navigate global health technology – whether its apps, platforms, wearables or instruments.
The ReconnHealth market place is free and open to all to create profiles, share ideas, market products and services that deliver quality and efficiency improvements – we only ask that you are genuinely committed to transforming global healthcare.
There will be no vetting on our side but companies with case studies, economic evaluations and quality marks will be weighted over those without. And at the same time we’ll shuffle the search results so you see the new guys as well.
Whether you are an innovative health technology company with a product looking for an evaluation site or a healthcare deliverer looking for proven or new approaches to solve a particular problem you can find it with ReconnHealth. Think match.com meets LinkedIn meets Booking.com meets Skype.
With your support ReconnHealth will connect buyers and sellers and generate meaningful conversations. We want to end time wasting. If you don’t have the time, energy or funds to deliver on discussions – be honest. If your technology cannot deliver a customer’s needs – be honest. ReconnHealth’s motto is – Don’t Waste Time.
