myhealthlocker is an online electronic personal health record controlled and owned by the service user which allows them to gather, store and share health information. myhealthlocker connects users with their care plan from South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust and health information from their local GP. It also provides them the opportunity to feedback to their clinicians through Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs) such as the Warwick Edinburgh Mental Well-Being Survey. The results from these measures auto populates into SLaM’s medical record.
Since myhealthlocker was launched in 2012 it has added many features such as text message appointment reminders, virtual consultations, online cognitive behavioural therapy and the connection to primary care. As well as this, myhealthlocker provides on-going support, in the form of drop in sessions, to help get users get online, particularly those who are unfamiliar with computers, tablets etc.
Being placed right at the centre of their health and social care experience, patients will have opportunity to be better informed about their health condition, collect and share information about their outcomes, and become an engaged partner in their health experience.
